This year's Nobel Prize in Literature will be announced on Thursday. Who do you think will win?
People regularly suggest authors such as Joyce Carol Oates, Adonis, and Amos Oz. I don't think it's likely an English-language author will win this year. And given the way the Nobel tends to be linked somewhat to politics, I doubt an Israeli will get it, no matter how deserving his oeuvre might be.
What do you think?

Considering the position Amos Oz takes on Israeli politics, precisely the political climate can tip the scales to his side...
Maybe you're right.
But of course I don't really think politics should come into something such as the Nobel Prizes anyway. I wish they would focus on the lit. But then can literature exist without its context?
Best wishes,

Perhaps this is wishful thinking, but we are thinking Joyce Carol Oates. She certainly deserves it -- she's a magnificent and highly prolific writer. Plus, she's charming: Judy had the opportunity to meet her in Vegas last year!
Ooh, I wonder if JCO is awake right now, nervously awaiting a phone call! Lots of people think she might get, but then others say she's too prolific!
Best wishes,
BJ
