Love Your Translator
Ah, translators! Invisible, overworked, underpaid, and…underloved? Check out the Love Your Translator campaign and Facebook page. Get some stickers and show love for translators!
I have recently translated documents for a very recognized translation company based in the UK that delayed my payment for 3 months. I couldn't believe I would experience this with such an established company. Feeling utterly disappointed (((
I had similar experience with a US-based firm,, you should try more prestigious and decent companies, let's say One Hour Translations, Master TR Translations, Tolingo, Verbatim. And always check translators' feedback before singing a contract.
Originally from Chicago, I lived in southern Sweden for nearly 5.5 years, and moved to southern Wales in September 2006. I completed a Ph.D. translation studies in June 2009 at Swansea University, with a dissertation on the translation of children's literature.
Now I live in Norwich, England, where I am a lecturer at the University of East Anglia, and I also work as a translator, writer, and editor.
