Tim Ferriss on Learning Languages

Someone keeps recommending Tim Ferriss’s book The 4-Hour Workweek to me, but I just haven’t had time for it yet (maybe I should outsource the reading to someone else!). I have, however, had some time to look at his blog. Some of his posts on learning languages are pretty interesting.

Check out his advice this post on learning any language in three months, and this one on learning languages in an hour, and finally this post on reactivating previously known languages. What do you think of his advice?

Ooooh, I don't have time to read the posts you linked to, but I'd love to hear what others think.

Interesting posts he has got. I have read the links you have posted. I shall try and use Tim Ferriss' suggestions for my situation as I have begun to learn Russian!! I am very curious to see how I will do.
As for reactivating languages, I cannot say much. When I was a child I was fluent in Slovak language because I lived close to the Slovakian border. But I do not know a single word now, and I do not know if anything can happen if I came in contact with the language again.

Thank you for your comments!
Jen, we should contact Tim Ferriss to see if he outsources his language-learning!
Essentials, I am curious about trying his suggestions, too. Please do report back to us and let us know how the Russian is going!
Best wishes,
BJ
